The aim of the project "Integrating AI Applications in STEM University Study Programs" is to modernize the university education of STEM fields, preparing students for the future by including artificial intelligence (AI) applications. The project aims to bridge the gap between traditional STEM disciplines and the emerging technological trend, fostering innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration and the university's direct connection with business and industry to put the latest technology and AI developments to work. By evaluating and analyzing the impact of integrating AI into STEM study programs, the project aims to align current program curricula with industry needs and contribute to advances in both basic and applied STEM sciences. The project, among other things, aims to carry out in-depth analysis of the programs offered in the main institutions of the country and how they have included access to AI by identifying the current content and linking it to current applications in different fields of STEM. The evaluation of the content of the programs in which AI applications can be integrated in function of the current capacities of our institutions of higher education is intended to be carried out already in the first phase of the project with the aim of the possibility of applications in the function of scientific research, modeling , simulation and optimization and experimental development in STEM programs.

  • The orientation of STEM programs at UT and UPT towards AI applications as a demand and need of the industry market and other actors. This reorganization will not only bring their approach to new technologies with an AI focus, but mostly will transform these programs into attractive programs for young people, since the graduates of these programs will be highly sought after by the labor market. research and scientific institutions, etc.
  • Improvement of the existing curricula, the improvement of the literature, the capacities of the academic staff and the academic assistant, as well as increase the quality of teaching not only in the STEM programs but as a whole in the study programs in our institutions as it will new standards of student-focused teaching are created using innovation, technology and AI applications. Institutions will build individualized teaching methods for students based on their learning goals, preferences and progress, can adjust the difficulty and pace of learning materials to suit students' needs and abilities.
  • Helping institutions design the opening of new STEM programs that include AI applications focused on the analysis of a large number of data, computer simulations, automation of processes and procedures, optimization of decision-making solutions through artificial intelligence . These programs are today among the most requested programs by the labor market and industry.
  • Increasing of laboratory capacities through the use of AI and the opportunities it offers in terms of the use of virtual laboratories, simulators, computational models, visualization and prediction models which, as we have emphasized, increase the efficiency of learning from side of the students while simultaneously increasing the interest of young people to study in STEM programs.
  • The use of AI in STEM programs will have a positive impact on academic staff to improve teaching methods by enabling the integration of theoretical information with practical examples that can be simulated in real time. Students will engage in hands-on activities that deepen their understanding of fundamental knowledge and principles, contributing to the advancement of theoretical knowledge through the use of AI.
  • Interdisciplinary integration between different fields within STEM, between our institutions or with others, the integration of business and industry, etc., which apply or have interest in the application of AI in their field of activity.
  • Detailed database with important information of the education system in the country including STEM, reports, presentations, trainings will be an integral part of the project and can be used by interested parties.
